Ethiopian Water Technology Institue
Ethiopian Water Technology Institute was established by the Council of Ministers Regulation No. 293/2013 as one of the very essential institutes which focus on Water sector capacity building and research and technology transferring activities in August 2013.
Capacity building is the process of gaining technical, managerial and institutional knowledge and insight in relation to the socio-economic structure, cultural standards, and values of the society concerned. It aims to increase the flexibility of institutions and society to adapt to changing circumstances.
The government of Ethiopia has implemented various strategies within its national development plan, one of the strategies is providing and increasing access to safe water supply and making modern sanitation services to all nations. To succeed in this goal the country must have advanced and skilled manpower in the water sector at all levels and highly participate in research and technology transfer activities in the water sector throughout the country.
